Procedure
Specific Pathobiological Tests
Description
Required for diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic guidance in neoplastic tumours, such as immunohistochemical markers: phenotypes (for histogenetic typing of undifferentiated tumours or tumours of unknown origin), hormone receptors and other prognostic markers (cell proliferation index, oncogene protein expression and tumour supressor genes, identification of therapeutic “targets”, etc…),and molecular techniques such as PCR (for detection and typing of the papilloma virus, demonstration of monoclonality and chromosomal translocalisations in lymphomas, etc …).
