Snoring and Sleep Apnea Appliances

Snoring treatment usually consists of acrylic appliances that are placed in the mouth of the snorer during the night. They prevent snoring and are suitable for lifelong use.
The results not only benefit the snorer, but also the snorer's family.
It is estimated that more than 50% of adults have some form of snoring problem. During sleep, the muscles and tissues of the throat and mouth relax automatically; the jaw and tongue retract, reducing the opening between them, resulting in the vibration of the soft tissues of the mouth and throat.
The sound of snoring is actually the sound of tissues vibrating.
Other things that can affect snoring are factors such as: diet; health; lifestyle; environment; smoking and alcohol. When the airway is fully blocked and breathing ceases, the blockage remains until the level of oxygen in the brain decreases enough to wake the sleeper and then the airway seal is broken, returning the tongue to a more normal position. This process is usually accompanied by a suffocating or drowning sound. THIS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
Continuously interrupted sleep not only causes health problems over time, but also relationship and family problems because of the discomfort that comes with repeatedly noisy nights.
A special splint creates a wider space for air to pass freely, so that vibration of the oral tissues can be eased or even prevented.
This splint is comfortable and only used when going to sleep. After a study of each case, we consider all the possibilities, working closely with pneumologists, otolaryngologists, family doctors, and laboratory technicians, sometimes in conjunction with apnoealink® and sleep studies.
