Endodontics Treatment

Description

Endodontics treatment or treatment of nerves/ducts is the process by which infected pulp is removed from the tooth, which is then sealed.

The dental pulp is the tissue inside the tooth and is composed of nerves and blood vessels. It is focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the dental pulp and surrounding tissues.

Due to various factors, such as deep cavities, periodontal disease, trauma, etc., the dental pulp can become inflamed even when it is still alive in the tooth. Untreated, this situation will deteriorate until eventually the entire bone around the tooth is affected and may be lost. It may also be indicated for prosthetic reasons.

Endodontics practice has experienced a drastic change over the last 5 years due to the development of new equipment (apex locators, lasers, endox, ultrasound, irrigation, Digora, mechanization…) and flexible instruments. All of these adhere to strict sterilisation and disinfection standards. Source: Cuevas y Queipo
