Assisted Hatching

Description

Assisted Hatching is a technique consisting of making an artificial orifice in the zona pellucida (outer membrana) of the embryo before it is transferred to the uterus, which is done without compromising the viability of the embryo. Many studies show that opening an orifice in the zona pellucida favours the hatching process of all the embryos before they are implanted in the endometrium of the uterus. This suggests that the application of this technique in certain cases may produce a significant increase in implantation and pregnancy rates.
